Mantis was established to bridge the gap between information management and technology for medical practices - specifically, those practices that demand enterprise connectivity to Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Lab Information Systems (LIS), Cardiology Information Systems (CIS) and Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS). Intent on integrating disparate information systems and building a common database for a unified patient record repository, Mantis initially began surveying the marketplace for a robust information system flexible enough to utilize popular interface engines. What Mantis found, was that no existing product could provide such a service and no existing solution was economically feasible. Further, the pieces required to "patch" a solution together were too complex and costly to implement, while leading interface engines were very inflexible -- delivering only one-to-one connectivity between dedicated resources.
While Mantis was providing the complex networking, data conversion and custom interface services needed to "connect" multiple information and imaging systems for both private and hospital-based radiology and cardiology practices in the New York Metropolitan area, the company developed its own interface engine.
In a few short years, Mantis developed a solution for bridging information and technology barriers, creating a suite of tools that enables clients' software applications to cross many IT platforms and connect to diverse systems infrastructures. Now, Mantis is integrating the entire healthcare continuum (physicians, clinicians, technicians, executives, business managers, administrators and clerks with patients and suppliers alike). All members (patients, providers and suppliers), can easily view integrated data from multiple, disparate HIS, RIS, LIS, PACS, transcription services and billing systems - all from a single Windows or Web client.
Subsequent joint efforts with leading Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records software development companies, RIS and PACS vendors, medical hardware/device suppliers and electronic claims processors have enabled Mantis to perfect its suite of productivity-enhancing tools.
Mantis clients now enjoy a competitive advantage in their marketplace, outperforming other practices whose IT infrastructures do not allow them to meet their business objectives.
Mantis will continue to focus on enabling integrated healthcare solutions that:
- reduce operating costs
- increase workflow efficiencies
- increase profit margins
- increase the quality of patient care
